In addition to gold for Raw Genever, Sweet Spiced Genever received a bronze medal, and the unique alcohol-free spirit Zero Zero 24 could count on silver. This year's 26th edition of the annual award received more than 1800 entries from nearly 70 countries around the world. The spirits were intensely judged for this competition over twelve days through blind tastings by panels of more than 50 respected and experienced industry professionals.
Our contemporary Raw Genever scored gold based on the genever style, a taste that lingers in the mouth, a spicy aftertaste with a hint of white pepper and the overall classic and high quality. At The Spirit Masters and the San Francisco World Spirit Competition we also managed to score gold with the Raw Genever.
The Raw Genever from Hooghoudt consists of 100% copper-fired malt wine and is a blend of four different types of malt wine; barley, wheat, rye and a mix of wheat, corn and rye. We are extremely proud and grateful that our innovative way of working and craftsmanship has been recognized by this multitude of international awards. These awards are a wonderful reconfirmation of the course that we as a family distillery have been sailing for some time.
